The Human Resources department is responsible for the recruitment of professional, certified, and classified employees, job classification, records management, and employee relations.

Staffing Cherokee Central Schools with the best employees possible is our goal.  Students of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians deserve the best and we have the privilege and responsibility to accomplish this mission by employing candidates that share our goals and to build a strong community of learners while embracing the unique culture.

Cherokee Central Schools is mandated by the guidelines of "No Child Left Behind" and the North Carolina Department of Public Instructions. All certified and para-professional employees must meet the criteria of "highly qualified" in their area of assignment.

****A NC teaching license is required for all Teaching positions

                   

***Teacher assistants serving in Title 1 schools, in an instructional capacity, must have an Associate's Degree or two years (48 semester hours) of study at an institute of higher education.
                                 

The following positions require a High School diploma or GED:

                   Food Service Workers 
                   Substitute Food Service Workers
